What better place to discuss resilient crops than on a scorching hot day in a potato field?

On June 24, we welcomed our largest funders, stakeholders from national and provincial government and partners from across the potato value chain. Together, we visited the CropXR trial fields at AIKC Rusthoeve in the province of Zeeland.
Tangible effects of climate change
In the field, the effects of climate change become tangible. Heat, drought and the need for robust yields are not abstract challenges here — they are part of the reality growers and breeders face.
Public funding in action
But the field also shows what public funding can help achieve in practice. Through CropXR, companies, researchers and public partners work together to contribute to stronger crops, more sustainable agriculture and a strong position for the Dutch plant breeding and processing industry.
Inspiring input
The visit brought valuable reflections and inspiring input on the role CropXR can play in strengthening the Dutch innovation ecosystem and contributing to future food security. We left with new insights, renewed energy and a strong sense of shared commitment.
