On May 1st, the Young CropXR community gathered for its third event, this time diving into the science behind their work. After January’s social get-together, this edition was all about connecting through content: “Getting to know the work packages.”
Hosted at Utrecht University, the event gave the different work package members a chance to share a short, informal presentation to showcase their research and progress. Hedwich Teunissen kicked things off with an inspiring talk on the broader CropXR vision, perfect for onboarding new team members and setting the stage for the rest of the afternoon.
Presentations sparked insightful discussions, questions, and even a few calls for collaboration on upcoming experiments. With almost all work packages represented, the session offered a much clearer picture of what’s happening across the initiative.
To wrap up, they shifted into Dutch borrel mode with pizza, drinks, and sunshine. The relaxed vibe helped continue conversations and strengthen connections.
The energy and openness throughout the day were fantastic. What a fruitful day it was!
