During this meeting, both the Demonstrator and the Translator work packages presented their progress. In addition, all participants took part in a number of activities that helped them to better understand each other’s work packages and the challenges involved.
Guido van den Ackerveken talked about how CropXR brings together plant biology, bioinformatics, modelling, data science, and social sciences.

Jochem Evers showed us that collaboration requires a shared understanding. Terms like crop, stress and resilience need to be clearly defined to interpret results consistently and align on next steps.
Monica Garcia Gomex discussed the challenges of translating findings from Arabidopsis to more complex crops.
And Rashmi Sasidharan emphasised that good communication is essential: sharing progress, challenges, and needs. Rashmi also highlighted the importance of clarifying what experimental data modellers need from scientists to build their models effectively.
This meeting resulted in a stronger foundation for improving communication and enhancing collaboration. All participants left with a broader understanding of each other’s projects and they felt encouraged to reflect on how they can contribute further.
